About

Achieving financial independence should be the rule and not the exception. Creating a life with less worry and stress is possible.

Through The Budget Brainiac, I help readers tackle challenging money problems. Developing the right mindset and habits are central to reducing financial struggle while creating wealth and independence.

Why?

My interest and appreciation for effective money management was manifested from the time my dad taught me how to track the money coming and going from my first savings account. It was not until I took a personal finance and investing course in college as part of my minor that I realized how eager I was to learn all that I could about being an effective steward of money. Later, when faced with the decision to pursue or not pursue law school, the expected financial outcome relative to the anticipated cost featured prominently in my decision not to attend. I noticed how many aspiring law students – and those from other disciplines – neglected the financial component when evaluating educational paths. From then on, it was clear that I can and should play a role in boosting financial literacy.

By combining a passion for personal finance, writing, and serving others, I seek to uncover the answers to puzzling questions about money and life, sharing what I learn along the way. I hope you find it helpful.
